Bra Care

Bra care is simple and we offer a few different options to suit your lifestyle. Hand washing is always best, and if you want your investment to last the longest, this is how you will care for your bras. Use a mild detergent, we love SOAK because it does the scrubbing and all you have to do is soak and rinse!

To hand wash soak your bras in lukewarm water for no more than 10 minutes. If you are not using SOAK, gently rub your hands over all the parts of the bra that touch your body. Then rinse well. Press extra moisture out with a towel and hang to dry.

If machine washing is the only option, you must put your bras in a mesh hosiery bag and remember to do the hooks up. Bras have to be washed in cold or very lukewarm water to keep the elastic intact. Using a very mild detergent is also a good idea. Bras CANNOT go in the dryer; this is a lingerie faux pas. Instead, please hang your bras to dry.

When it comes to lined t-shirt bras avoid squeezing the cups. This action encourages small wrinkles to develop on the smooth surface. When drying a lined bra put a towel over your fist, followed by the bra and then take the remaining towel and gently press out the extra moisture. Try not to invert one cup into the other, instead store them ‘sunny side up!’

Making your bras last longer

Another preservation tactic involves wearing darker colours over darker bras and lighter colours over lighter bras. The dye in the clothing discolours our bras, so try to stay colour similar. Bras should be washed after every wear because our body oils and sweat build-up break down the fibres. Due to your hectic lifestyles, we recommend washing after every one to three wears. Try to get your bra wardrobe up to at least 3 bras that you can rotate within one week. This will lengthen their lifespan. If you exercise it is imperative to have a sports bra.
