Always too shy to ask?

I didn’t get my breasts until a bit later in my teens. I always wondered if I was normal, if this was how boobs looked. Mine sure looked different from my moms! Even in my 20’s my breasts would surprise me with new and interesting little details. A blemish here, a hair there…what was a shy girl to think? There was the library then and now we are blessed with the internet. Check out this sight for answers to some of the first questions that come to girls minds when their breasts first start to develop.

Here’s a site that’s geared towards women who want to see images that will help them feel a little more normal about their natural breasts, whether they are young or old, childbearing or not. It helped me when I realized that my breasts were not as perky as they had been when I was younger.

While the normal breast gallery site is a great idea, it does have a few places where I disagree with what is being said.

“Also as we all know, size varies a lot. Some women have practically a flat chest, some have small breasts, some have much bust that the mere weight of them can cause them backaches.”

Backache from larger bust size can often be helped with a properly supporting bra.

“According to the bra industry, the most common bra cup size in the US used to be B, but has now become C probably due to the increasing obesity.”

As we at SFYS know, C may be the most commonly purchased size, but that is usually the wrong size, purchased because women feel that they are “average to large” on a scale of A-D/DD. The bra industry WISHES we were all C cups, so they can manufacture fewer sizes, but they need to wake up and realize that they aren’t accomodating MOST women.

And there are many possible reasons for average size purchased to increase.
    A. More women are sick of wearing a too small cup.
    B. Fewer of us are ashamed to admit that we are women rather than girls, and yes, we have breasts over a B cup.
    C. The pill and other weird chemicals pumped into our environment over the last 50 years can be changing the way our bodies work.

So, “obesity” is a pretty crappy excuse here. We just have breasts, okay?
