We quite love this dress. Anything lingerie-inspired usually works well with us. And those booties! So cute with the ivory detailing. So, how does this look qualify for a “brabomination”? Well, it qualifies for more than that actually. Its a bra/pantybomination!

All we can see in this photo are Gwyn’s ivory boyshorts and strapless bra. We’re sure with such a pale skin tone that Gwyn was sure her ivory set would blend in and be invisible. After all, a more invisible look would have kept our attention on the dress and Gwyn’s face more than her knickers! We really feel that this ivory set was the wrong way to go.

We’d recommend the Piege super-fantastic, convertable, plunge, push-up, multi-way or strapless bra:

and matching, or similarly toned knicker. Even if this bra/knicker combo is a touch darker than Gwyn’s skin tone, it would be invisible (or much closer to) than something lighter than her skin tone. The beige will blend in and disappear, while the lighter tone will reflect off her skin, drawing attention to the area.

Gwen is always ahead of the pack when it comes to fashion. Punk-pretty pioneer and fantastically dressed, it’s a shame to see her suffer from the dreaded too-big bra. Yet, here she is, with the bra inching up her back towards that uncomfortable area between her shoulder blades:

To be fair to Ms. Stefani, she did just have a baby (also pictured!) but we are hesitant to excuse those with all the resources in the world to obtain a perfectly fitted bra!

We applaud the use of colour – that is a fantastic blue, but we’d suggest Gwen gets a fitting to find out the correct size – which will help keep her band snugly and securely placed horizontally around her body. This will help her be more comfortable and will keep her straps on her shoulders. That is important when you’ve got two little ones buzzing around.

This isn’t a first time offense for Gwen:

There it is again, the back of her bra riding up. It is definite that Gwen needs to be wrestled into a change room, and made to try on a smaller back size (and therefore, one to two cups larger as well)! Gwen is in good company – this sort of sizing error is the most common of all.

We would recommend this sassy mimosa yellow number from Princesse Tam Tam for Gwen. She loves colour, and PTT fits like a dream! Princesse Tam Tam lingerie is perfectly suited to smaller busts like Gwens, and isn’t designed for the shy personality. With fun colours, prints and cuts, PTT is known for being unique and great quality. Kind of like Gwen herself.

Thora Birch, we loved you in American Beauty and Ghost World…but you are on our BRABOMINATION list big time!

Here you are pictured with a poorly fitting bra showing right through your sweater, and it takes focus off of your smashing good looks and directs them to your poor posture! Just imagine how tall you’d stand if well supported. Then we find this brabomination where you are showing us another angle on your ill fitting bra! This time we can see the back is riding up, sitting nearly between your shoulder blades instead of sitting snuggly beneath them. Such a shame, because the dress it great! We do aplaud your choice to show off the sassy brown satin straps, that is a fun choice. But, it would be better if the bra fit right, and it was just the straps showing, not the entire band.
It isn’t easy to fit a bra – and it isn’t something we can do from a photo – so, we’ve decided to choose a bra for Thora that we know would fit because it is offered in a wide range of sizes starting in a 28 back and cups as high as HH.

We suggest Panache’s Superbra Tango in the Plunge shown here in teal:

This bra offers fantastic lift and shape and would help correct Thora’s posture. This bra is also available as a basic (black would work with that first outfit perfectly, while white could work with the second one, even though we think strapless would be ideal) and we ‘ve heard buzz that a smashing violet variation is coming soon. It has a deep plunge in the centre which means it works under many different styles, but it also offers secure support, which is quite the feat! It has been one of our favourite bras of the summer and it is fast becoming a favourite for many of our customers.
