March has arrived. Inspiration for fashion is everywhere. If you’re like us, you’ve started daydreaming about wearing new, lighter clothing, wearing dresses without hosiery and showing off your fabulous lingerie items (like peek-a-boo bra straps) with your outfits. Spring….we’re ready; bring it!

Loads of inspiration for spring shopping trips can be found in the newest issue of Lou Lou magazine. If you pick up the new issue,  you’ll find a secrets from your sister coupon for 20% off a fashion bra! While it might still be a bit early for summer clothes, it’s not too early for new spring merchandise to start rolling in and hitting the ‘bra cave’ (yes, that’s what we call our crazy massive storeroom in the back.) And of course, it’s time for us to start showing you some of these lovely new items.

February is traditionally a not-very-fun month. It is grey and dreary and falls squarely between the post-holiday blues and the yay-it-is-spring-happy’s. With only Valentine’s day to break this up, we’re happy to report that in our month we’ve also added Dead Bra Day. Even the government has stepped up and given us a long weekend! Suddenly it seems the  month has improved.

Not all of us love Valentine’s day. But for those of us in love (especially, it seems in a new love) it is a great holiday that brings excitement and… titillation!

In that spirit this post features some of our less-serious, more-fun, non-everyday items that you will enjoy during this festive season!

Nippies by Bristols6 are sometimes worn for practical reasons but these fun heart-shaped versions made in rawr-worthy leopard print and ravishing red velvet would be an awesome after-dinner surprise. You could wear them with a bra if you wish, or on their own, as intended. They are soft to the touch, soft against the skin and cute under a sheer top if you are bold like that! They will stay on underwater, on the dancefloor or anywhere else you might get wet or work up a sweat…

Have you ever checked out the items we carry from Bordelle? We weren’t sure at first if our customers would be interested in this particular brand because it isn’t exactly practical for everyday. Alas, we lingerie lovers don’t always want practical. And once you’ve fallen for quality, it’s hard to settle for anything less. This is where Bordelle comes in! That knicker above? This line, which debuted in 2007, had a big break when Britney Spears’ stylist ordered a number of items to clothe the star and dancers for the Circus tour. The items are a blend of luxury lingerie, ready-to-wear fashion styling and a heavy dash of erotic S&M inspired styling.

This past weekend some of our product was featured in the Globe and Mail style section! Touting the fashion-forward look of brights (ahem, we’ve been talking about that for months) as an option instead of traditional red and black, the article highlighted a number of fun options and colours to choose from. We’ve got loads of prints, patterns and bright tones to choose from, so be sure to come in and see them all. Here’s a fun electric-blue set from Cosabella and a fantastic non-shrinking violet style from Empreinte to whet your appetite.

Hello February! On top of this month being Sports Bra Month (where $2 from each sports bra sold is donated to The Heart Truth), it is also the month when Dead Bra Day happens! Dead Bra Day is now one of our most popular events of the year! Dead Bra Day is coming up on February 13th.

Here are the details for this year’s event:

Dead Bra Day is Sunday February 13th, 2011 from 11am-6pm at both stores!
Bring one clean “dead bra” in to donate, receive 25% off one bra and the matching panties (one of each only!).

This is a very very popular event. If you want to have faster service, please come in to the store and try on your items during a less busy time, and make a wish list! This will allow you to purchase items without trying them on or having to wait. If you wish to wait, please feel free to bring a book and relax while you wait. We will take your cell number and call you when your turn is up!

Sales are on regular priced in-stock items only. Special Order items that are instock can be picked up with the discount, but no special orders can be placed on the day of. (Another reason to come early and make your wish list!)

Please bring bras clean and in condition to be donated to charity. Ideally, it would be a bra you’ve grown out of – not one that has been run over by a truck!

We reserve the right to deny accepting any unwashed items. Fittings are limited to 30 minutes, so if it is your first fitting you are encouraged to come in advance to have a leisurely visit. OMG isn’t it deeelishis!?!? Freya’s Zara has just arrived in the spring colour variation! Available in backs 30-38, DD-GG, this bra is a staff favourite and we are sure you’ll love the colour.  Funky floral print on a white base is fun for the spring and summer seasons. Pretty, feminine but great for everyday, Freya bras are customer and staff favourites!
