The TV Bra…

October 26th, 2009

bella materna

With dropping temperatures, stew in the crock pot and the new episodes of 30 Rock on the boob tube, lately all we’ve wanted to do is curl up on the couch. Some busty gals will tell you they don’t always find it comfortable to wear a wired bra all the time. Some gals like to even sleep in something wireless.  Those same busty gals will likely tell you they also don’t find it comfortable to wear no bra at all, even just around the house. This isn’t true for everyone – but if it is for you….what to do?

This is the “anytime” bra. For sleeping, couch surfing, light housework, even all day, this bra is truly incredible. It is designed as a maternity/nursing style, but as you can see this is not immediately obvious. There are no clips so to the untrained eye, it’s just a regular bra! The Bella Materna ‘Anytime’ is available in black, beige and even comes in the most awesome slip version! This comes up to a g/h cup and it really fits. The slip is so cute, we want to wear it every day, all day next summer, with NO BRA!! Speaking for busty gals in the higher end of the scale that these styles fit, we were blown away by how supportive, comfortable and well designed the slip is, meanwhile, it looked hot! We would totally wear it out of the house with no bra – something G cup gals rarely do.

It is a softer shape than a more heavily constructed, wired bra, and it isn’t as supportive for all day.  However, for a stretchy, pull-on, completely wireless, affordable bra top this number is a real winner and our new must have!
It is so good in fact, we might change the “Anytime” to “All the time”.

Spotlight: Simone Perele

Last week we got in this amazing “Nina” bra by Simone Perele, and it is the most glorious fig colour. It really looks fantastic against the skin and is both sexy and discreet – it is almost invisible, with a delicate smooth finish.

Don’t you love that photograph of the bra? When we saw it we thought it looked like a scene from a 60’s mystery film. That might not be a coincedence! Simone Perele says their ‘Nina’ bra is one of a collection that pays tribute to iconic women, past and present, taking inspiration from designers, actresses and artists admired for their boldness and free spirits.

Simone Perele describes the lace design of this bra as “the light delicate lines of a flower…translated to a knit inspired by ancestral Japanese origami”, and they deliver on this while still providing a comfortable fit. Did you know Simone Perele was an actual woman? Simone was a corset maker who established the brand in 1948 as a way of expressing her belief that women should not have to choose between being comfortable and being attractive! An idea we like quite a bit.

We were inspired to put together an outfit inspired by this bra – something we do often! We just find the colour very inspiring. Perfect for fall!

Now that the bra shopping issue is taken care of, where are we going to get that trench coat and blouse?

The lace will lay flat against the skin and is designed to be completely invisible. The shape and fit are fantastic, and these are currently flying out of our stores! This lovely colour is a wonderful substitute for black in your wardrobe, and the straps would look fantastic peeking out from your fall tops.

This bra is also available in basic colours and is available up to a G cup.
