Dare We Say the “F” Word?

July 18th, 2011

The “f” word we are referring to is, of course, Fall! Some of our fall merchandise has just arrived. Do not worry, it is still fantastic for summer! We are always excited when new things arrive from Fantasie and Freya!

Introducing Erin by Freya, a delicious demi cup with stripes and florals! This range also includes a matching thong or brief! So cute. This one is very well-priced too, the bra is under $100! Sizes: D30, DD-F 30-38, FF-G 30-36 and the bottoms available in; Thong – sm-xl, Brief – sm – lrg.

We love that it fits with this season’s floral trend!

We also received a new colour of Florence by Fantasie! This bra fits like a charm and looks great on so many people. We love this new colour option and are so excited to wear it now and into the cooler  months.

We have sizes F,FF,G 30-40, GG30-38 in the bra and we have both the thong in m-xl as well as the short in sizes sm-xl!  Purple was the colour for 2010. It will stay currant (oh, nice pun!) in the new year as well. Bras in dark colours make great substitutes for black in your wardrobe, but we also like to show them off.

Here’s some great examples of celebrities showing off purple bra steeze!

We don’t want fall to come, but we’re ready for the lingerie! Hope to see you soon. xo SFYS

Lovely Lauren

May 26th, 2011

Summertime brings about thoughts of creased white tennis attire. Ok, maybe it doesn’t for you but lately we’ve been hankering for croquet, tennis and golf. We could blame it on all the oxford shoes we’re seeing out and about, or our crush on Pimm’s Cups but there is something in the air about preppy style this year!

Freya has the feeling too and we’ve just received lovely Lauren, in bright crisp white.

The look of Lauren is clean and subtle. Available in the demi cup, this pretty white set is available with a shortie bottom (XS-XL) or brief (SM-XL). We prefer the shortie look if you want the true tennis feel!

Available in sizes DD-E 30-36, F-FF 30-38, G30-36, Lauren is perfectly low cut across the décolletage offering a uplifted shape and support.

Rack of the Week: Kate Middleton

May 3rd, 2011

Ah, wedding season is upon us. Did you get up early to watch the Royal Wedding? We did! And we’ve got some observations and tips for you about our favourite Rack of the Week, Kate Middleton.

What we love most about Kate’s look is that her bustline was what we call a “perky” shape instead of rounded. This is a more uplifted silhouette and is achievable with strapless bras, perfect for many challenging wedding ensembles. It is more contemporary and offers a more defined shape. Trust the British to be ahead of lingerie trends! This shape provides a slimmer appearance from the front as well.

If you like the perky shape, we suggest:

For smaller busts: Jezebel Strapless

or Piege Bonded Strapless

For larger busts: Panache Smooth

or Panache Evie

All four of these fantastic strapless bras offer multi-way removable straps, look invisible under your clothing and offer Kate’s fantastic shape! While Kate may have had a built-in bra (many wedding dresses do) if you wish to replicate her look with a lovely lace top, strapless summer blouse or less structured wedding dress this spring, be sure to try one of these styles.

Since a lot of wedding dresses don’t require bras, the excitement about bridal lingerie can be had in the other items you’ll wear on your special day.  Thigh high hosiery with crystals, pearls or beading would be a stunning surprise. We are carrying a lovely Marie Jo garter belt in white (as well as black, pictured) which would be a perfect wedding item.

If you are an offbeat bride, maybe the black works for your wedding day too!

Kate’s sister Pippa also sported an uplifted silhouette with perky bust line, but what gathered the most attention was her posterior in that stunning white gown she wore. We don’t have a “posterior of the week” but if we did we’d give it to Pippa. Pippa chose to deal with the oft-discussed “VPL/VTL” issue by wearing  a full-back knicker with high waist and perhaps a control panel at front. This is a trendy look of the moment that is inspired by retro-styled lingerie companies, but this look is not just retro, it’s extremely functional under challenging garments like white dresses as well. Not only the most comfortable choice, it is also the most appropriate choice to wear under a white dress as it will appear invisible yet opaque.

If you want to replicate her look,  we recommend the Prima Donna Perle High-Waist slimming knicker! These stunning bottoms will offer a totally seamless and smooth look under the white dress, keep the tummy tucked offering a slim line and won’t show or pinch.

As you can see, they can be quite sexy too!

Whatever your challenge when it comes to figuring out what-to-wear under your wedding dress, summer wardrobe or body-skimming outfit, be sure to start with a great foundation garment. A well fitting strapless bra and smooth knicker will help you to feel and look your best in your fancy clothes! Yes, strapless bras can be comfortable and do not have to feel as if they are falling down. The key is wearing the correct size.

At secrets from your sister, we will help you to find the right size and style to suit your shape. Hope to see you soon, Cheerio! xo SFYS
